What Does Swelling In The Ankles Indicate?

I was kicked in the ankle and also my foot went into the ground awkwardly yesterday while playing soccer. It has been swollen and I feel as though the swelling is getting worse. There is now a dent in the swelling of my ankle. Is this cause for concern?

Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
It could be ankle sprain.
You can try the following as a first line things.
1.Apply ice packs
2. Tale adequate bed rest
3.Simple analgesics like ibuprofen and diclofenac.
If pain and swelling persist, Kindly consult an orthopedic and get evaluated. You might require an MRI scan in that scan.
Wishing you good health
Thanks
