What Does Swelling In The Ankles While Suffering From Kidney Failure Indicate?
I am in kidney failure,the doctor said on a scale of 1 to 10 I m at 5 and I have had two blood test last year,waiting see the doctor,I ve had swelling in both legs and ankles my doctor back home prescribed a water pill it has went down,I m in Yuma Az. I m going to the Va clinic but I m being treated by cardiologist in Illinois and I was going to Va doctor today he cancelled and I rescheduled for March 8,I was on blood pressure meds.the cardiologist took me off it till blood readings go down , I Take my blood pressure daily and cut down on salt.Is there anything else I should be doing?
There are various reasons for swelling in the ankles along with kidney failure like worsening renal function, side effect of anti-hypertensive drugs, venous return issues, cardiac or pulmonary dysfunction.
Detailed case evaluation and co-relation of the parameters are of immense importance. Till that time, you can check the list of anti-hypertensive medications whether it is containing Amlodipine or not, which is a very common cause of this issue.
