What Does Swelling In The Eyes And Cheekbones Indicate?

I woke up yesterday with swollen eyes and cheekbones. I have hives on my back and neck and a few bumps on fron neck, forehead and a red spots on my cheeks. At first I thought the swelling on my eyes was allergic reaction to benadryl. But for a while after icing my eyes, the swelling went away not completely, tho the cheekbone swelling went away slightly. I then took again another benadryl in morning and 1 in afternoon. I applied hydrocortisone ointment on my back and neck twice yesterday and once just now including on the swollen eyes and cheekbones. I kept icing my cheekbones but does not subside completely. The red spot on my cheek left is gone. I did not take benadryl before I slept to eliminate possible cause of my swelling. At 2:20 a.m. today I woke up my eyes and cheekbones swollen. I started am icing it now I woke up and my eyes and after I applied the hydrocotrisone ointment and looks like the eyes are getting better only cheekbones swelling aocheekbones are swollen again unchanged. What could this be.

Hello,

It does sound like an allergy and I would advise you take a shot of Hydrocortisone. Also I would have put you on antihistamins for a week . If you think it is because of Benadryl you should not take it ever.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
