What Does Swelling In The Hands Indicate?

My hands (both) are as swollen as the Pillsbury Dough Man, painful and sensitive, and bright red. For no reason at any time, all the fingers will suddenly turn yellowish and then in a short time waves of red will flush back into the fingers and the red returns. I was told it was carpel tunnel and had surgery on one hand first, but nothing changed. I am becoming more disabled every day as I have difficulty using my hands for everyday simple tasks. Have you ever heard of this, and if so, what type of doctor should I be seeing?

Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction. Some advice that I can give to you are:

-Take antihistamines daily
-Use Calamine lotion for local relief
