What Does Swelling In The Legs Indicate?

Hello, I have been having heart issue, bilat swelling in both legs, u/s sounds are negative for any blood clots, one of my heart valves in mild to modetate leaking, sleep test was normal, i have been dx with enlarge pulmonary artery, pulmonary is larger then the arota. SOB. unable to workout due to the SOB. I get SOB when i walk down the hall way. up stairs making a bed, etc. Who should I see for the pulmonary issues? I called the Mayo and they stated I should see a cardiologist, the pulmonary specialist will only address the SOB.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As you have valve leakage called valvular regurgitation and cardiac function compromised , so you have swelling legs. Swelling legs indicate right sided heart involvement. For pulmonary hypertension , cardiologist is better person than pulmonologist as it is not lung tissue disease. Mayo people are right.
