General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi
long hours of standing in same place without moving around leads to congestion of veins and seepage of fluid from your blood vessels to tissues leading to swelling of legs -this is a common reason for swelling of legs.

we need to rule out varicose veins in both your legs in view of your standing for a long time.

other common. causes like reduced Hemoglobin(anaemia),reduced proteins in your blood, low thyroid hormone secretion(hypothyroidism),reduced vitamin b levels, taking medications for treating blood pressure, some tropical infections need to be considered.

other rare causes such as blockage of veins in the abdomen due to blood clot, swellings in the abdomen compressing the veins draining the lower limbs, blood cancers need to be ruled out.

for the time being suggest that you wear cotton tubular bandage in the morning only while standing (preferable anti oedema stockings) and elevate both your feet on a pillow while sleeping at night.

thereafter please consult your family dr to rule out the common causes and thereafter if advised by him a general surgeon for further evaluation and management.

hope this helps
