What Does Swelling On The Finger Tips Indicate?

My right ring finger tip has been swelling or feeling tight on and off for a few weeks. The joints of my finger don t hurt. The swelling has caused tiny white marks with no pus, where the fingerprints are. When I got up from my nap, the swelling had gone to the entire finger, joints in finger still do not hurt, although now the wrist joint hurts a little. Not very painful, but worrisome. I have psoriasis under my nails, but it doesn t seem any worse than usual. What causes this and what home remedies are available?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

That likely due to psoriatic arthropathy and should be seen by dermatologist and further plan of care should be decided. Unfortunately I can't tell about home remedies because I'm an allopathic doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
