Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 56 year old male. I have a swollen spot on the bottom front side of my neck. Friends say thyroid gland. I also have a white circle on my skin near where the swelling is. It feels like a small mass. It hasn t seemed to grow since a friend clued me in that I had a small bulge/swelling on the right side of my neck. I ve also experienced some bloating in my stomach area. I m going to a mobile ultra sound fair Saturday where they will image my thyroid as well as six other things. I m including my girlfriends e-mail as I don t have one. Thanks
As per your clinical history, is concerned please follow like this - 1) Do a clinical examination by your doctor [endocrinologist] and to confirm exact pathology do few investigations like [Thyroid function tests, ultrasound (Thyroid scan), and FNA] 2) Do take treatment as per clinical findings and pathological investigations only. Do follow a few preventive steps - 1) Do a clinical examination by your doctor [Endocrinologist] every three months 2) Do ultrasound as soon as possible if you see any lumps which are painless.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
