What Does Swelling On The Shin Indicate?

I have what i think to be a bruise on my lower shin, but at a distant look, there is a significant red center and redness with swelling extending from the center down to my foot and up toward my knee. I am 6 foot tall with long legs so the swelling & redness is about 6 to 8 inches long from top to bottom. it feels a little warm to the touch.

Hi,

As per your detailed history, bruise on shin then whether any history of trauma? If yes then swelling may be due to that. In case of that kindly do X-ray shin after orthopedic consultation. Treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition. For pain, you can take tablet Aceclofenac after consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
