iHAVE HAD A BLOCKED EAR FOR 10 MONTHS AND HAVE MEDICATION ON AND OFF FROM THE DOCTOR FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS. sHE NOW HAS INFORMED ME THAT I HAVE A SWOLLEN EARDRUwHTAND REFERRED ME TO A SPECIALIST WHICH IS 3 WEEKS TIME. wHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE PROBLEM
Hi, the swollen ear drum indicates there is existing middle ear mucosal congestion and mastoid bone infection called as mastoiditis. the period was 10 months so that possibility of belly kind material in middle ear which may require procedure like vent in ear drum. if mastoiditis not responding to medical management means surgical correction. Check with your surgeon about the plan.Take care
