What Does Swollen In The Anklet Indicate?

Yesterday, I stepped back into a hole and heard a loud "pop" from my ankle. As soon as it happened I felt extremely dizzy and slightly nauseous. I was wondering if the injury could still be a sprain or hairline fracture. It is swollen this morning, but there is no bruising.
