Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The tenderness is expected and should resolve within within a week in most cases.
In many cases after trauma (surgery is a form of trauma), the pain and discomfort only starts 2 or 3 days after the event, there is a delayed response.
You can consider the use of Tylenol to help deal with your discomfort.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
