What Does Tenderness On The Back While Suffering From Bronchitis Indicate?

I am recovering from a bout of bronchitis and have noticed that when I lie down, I am aware of a tenderness (soreness) on the left side of my back, below the shoulder and down the side. It is not a sharp pain and I am only aware of it at bedtime. I take an aspirin and am able to fall asleep. Is this worth mentioning to a dr.?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think that this could be just a muscular pain because of your cough. I suggest to use Ibuprofen during this time (as an analgesic/anti inflammation drug). But, if this last more than 4-5 days you should speak with your doctor.

I hope my answer helps you.

Regards.
