What Does The MRI Regarding Nerve Problem Indicate?
Dear Doctor, My father has a nerve problem in the left jaw, in the MRI scan it was diagnosed that "Arterial loop in right hemi prepotine cistern indenting the root exit zone of right trigeminal nerve", please help me with a solution for this problem. thanking you bala
The trigemminal nerve is a cranial nerve which supplies the jaw area. This nerve originates in the brain and then courses as 3 divisions of which one reaches the jaw. In this MRI, it is mentioned that at a particular region in the brain, there is a small clump of vessels causing irritation of the trigemminal nerve in the prepontine cistern on right side. This leads to the nerve getting stimulated and creating symptom of pain. This is the reason for his problem. It is not serious but may cause sufficient discomfort and pain in the jaw.
