What Does The Widal Test Findings Below Indicate?

hi. My wife have pain in legs & body without fever. On blood test report Lyphosite is 43%, all other hematology counts are within range. Widal test report is as below: 1:40 1:80 1:160 1:320 S Typhi O Positive Positive Positive Negative S Typhi H Positive Positive Negative Negative S P Typhi AH Negative Negative Negative Negative S Typhi BH Negative Negative Negative Negative Kindly suggest me.

Hello

Your wife reports suggests positive widal test.It indicates typhoid fever.Titration value of anti O or H > or equal to 1: 160 indicate typhoid infection.
A single Widal test is of little clinical relevance due to the number of cross reacting infections.However,four fold increase in serial titration is confirmatory.

She need to take antibiotics regularly for 5- 7 days.Expected days of recovery is within 7-10 days.
I prescribe tablet cefixime 200 mg twice daily for seven days to my patients.

Increased lymphocyte count may be due to viral or typhoid infection.
