What Does The Appearance Of 3 Knots On My Lower Shin Indicate?

Hi. I have 3 small firm knots on my lower shin. I have had one for about 2 years and just recently 2 more appeared. Can you direct me as to some possibilities of what this could be? They do not hurt; are larger when I stand and somewhat disappear when I release pressure from my legs (sitting).

Hi,

The knots you have noticed on your lower shin might be related to :
- deep leg venous insufficiency (due to clotting)
- lipoma

If I was your caring doctor will further evaluate by:
- Echo Doppler of the blood vessels of the leg
- ultrasound of the knots

to determine the right diagnosis and start appropriate treatment in time.

All the best!
