Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hi, i did review your question. Looking at your report it seems you are still in chronic phase of cml. Please also get the RT PCR test for bcr-abl done and also ask the doctor about spleen size. I believe your platelet counts are fine as of now and RBC count is also within limits. The drug must have been changed as it must not have responded adequately to 1st drug.
i hope this helps. do let me know if you have any more questions for me.
wish you a healthy life ahead.
thanks

Pathologist and Microbiologist Dr. Jyothi B L's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query
Based on your reports and findings, my opinion is
1. Total count is higher than normal
2. Differential count shows myelocytes and metamyelocytes which is a common finding in CML.
3. However there are no blasts which is a good sign, means it is in chronic phase..
4. Another important indicator of disease prognosis is platelet count which is in normal range.
5. Poikilocytes and anisocytosis are findings of anemia which can be there in CML.
6. Overall it is in chronic phase which needs to be brought to remission and thtats the reason for need of medication.
Hope this helps
Regards
