Today I received a print out of a fasting blood test. I have not yet spoken to my PCP at this time. According to my print out, Hemoglobin 11.9 Hematocrit 36, Lymphocytes 1.60 and Basophils0.03. I am 73 and female, type 2 diabetes with diet control and have felt tired and low energy and generally yukky since Feb. Sounds like anemia from what I have read so far. What say you?
Thank you for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should get done fasting and post prandial blood sugars. Your Hb is quite good for your age so anaemia is out of causes. Sometimes uncontrolled diabetes also gives such symptoms of tiredness and feeling low. Also go for electrolytes specially Na. Low sodium can cause lethargy. So consult your doctor and discuss these.
