What Does The Bump On The Shaft Of My Penis Indicate?

Hi, I have a small bump (approx 3 mm wide, and maybe 1 mm out) on the top of the shaft of my penis about an inch away from the base. It appeared about a week ago, and hasn t went away yet. I did pick at it a little and it caused it to bleed a little. The bump is painless, even when I picked at it, and it is smooth and the color of my skin. Sometimes it is even hard to notice. In the past six months, I have had protected sex once, and I received oral sex once. So I haven t been overly sexually active in the recent past, but it still worries me. Do you have any ideas of what it may be?

Hello,

* The small lump over shaft of penis may be indicative of sebaceous cyst, genital herpes, syphillis or else.
* Though there is no pain, one should not neglect the issue like this and must be evaluated at a primary care center for best management guidelines ahead.

* Till that time, keep the parts clean with antiseptic liquid and apply Neosporin skin ointment to prevent secondary bacterial infection.

Maintain hydration with plenty of liquids and avoid all types of vaginal sex or oral sex till recovery.
