What Does The Chest X Ray Result Indicate?

Hello, my fiancee age 24 is suffering from cold n fever n some coughing got medication but not cure. now as per advised by the doctor she has gone for chest xray where the impression in the report says that"lung fields shows confulent infilterations in left upper zone with prominent pulled up left hila" can you please let me know what does it mean .also she used to have a little bit coughing normally through out the year. she has also became weak beacuse of this fever n coughing for the last one week

Confluent lung infiltrations can be seen in a mild to moderate respiratory infection. This is usually acute in nature if it is for the last one week and confined only to the left side. Treatment with antibiotics must be started. Sometimes, a chronic infection may also appear in a similar way. This will be known only if she does not respond to short course of conventional antibiotics. In this situation a longer course of specific medicines might be required for a longer period.
