Hi there, I have this circular red spot about the size of the end of a pencil eraser , it showed up out of no where . when i first noticed it, it was like a dry layer of skin and mostly just dry and it wasn't red . it doesn't itch and it's not painful and its the only one on my body. its located in my inner thigh.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of tinea/fungal infection.

Fungal infections begin as erythematous papules initially and subsequently spread to form annular or circular configuration.

Itching is subjective in patients.

I advice my patients to apply a topical anti-fungal cream like clotrimazole twice daily for 2-4 weeks which is usually enough.

An oral anti-fungal like fluconazole might be needed if the infection is extensive.

take care
regards
