What Does The Findings Of MRI For Headaches Mean?

I had a MRI for headaches and they found a 1.2cm marrow replacing lesion in the right parietal calvaria. Since I have had breast cancer, I will have a PET/CT to see if the cancer has spread. However, they found chronic ischemic deep white matter disease. What does that mean?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

A chronic ischemic deep white matter disease refers to an area in the deep white matter of the brain in which there has been reduced blood supply leading to tissue damage. This is not dangerous and not life threatening. Please do not worry for this particular finding.
