Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I want to ask regarding my CBC Test. I have Low Hemoglobin 10.6 g/dl Low MCH 21.1 pg MCHC 32 g/dl RBC Count 5.04 millions/ul MCV 65.2 fl HCT 32.9 l/l WBC Count of 9800 /ul Platelets count 434000 / ul RDW % 17.8 I councluded that its due to iron deficiency. I sometime have floaters and black circles infront of my eyes.
The blood test result indicates that the WBC and platelets are in the normal range while there seems to be some anemia present (mild). It seems from the indexes that it is very likely due to iron deficiency so you may try to take iron orally and check the CBC again in 3 weeks, Hb should raise with 1 during this time, if not then you will need to do tests to confirm the cause of anemia.
The other option is to have tests to confirm the cause of anemia from start like: TIBC, ferritine, blood iron level, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
