hi sir, i did my CT scan of pns and the result is 1.there is anterior bony nasal septal deviation towards right side. 2.the left middle & inferior turbinates are hypertrophied. 3.the left middle turbinate is also pnematized s/o concha bullosa. 4.there is mild mucosal thickeing noted in b/1 ethmoid & right mazillary sinuses. 5. A large polypoidal mucosal thickening of size 23x18x20(APxMLxCC) is seen involving the floor of left maxillary sinus. 6.the pnumatization of sphenoid sinus is extending into b/1 anterior clinoid process & left petrygoid process with protrusion of left vidian canal into the sphenoid sinus..
could you please tell me is this curable... operation is manadatory? am having headache 24/7 plz respond
1.The nasal septal deviation is one of the normal variation - only in obstructive cause needs correction. 2. Turbinate hypertrophy is seen in case of infective / inflammatory cause. 3.Concha bullosa is variations seen - no need of any active intervention. 4.Polyp if it is causing any obstruction - needs surgical removal ( FESS - functional endoscopic sinus surgery). 5. Pneumatisation is normal thing which should be seen, For all thickening a course of antibiotic will be helpful.
