Hello, thanks for writing in.
CT findings:-
- Nasal septum- (divides nose into two cavities) is deviated with a bony spur or projection at its tip.
- Concha bullosa: air-pocket within the small bone in the wall of the nose.
These may cause obstruction to free
drainage of the
sinuses, resulting in sinusitis/infection.
Features of mild sinusitis are seen-
- Mucosal secretions collected within one of the sinuses(spenoid), and its drainage pathway.
- A small retention
cyst in the left maxillary sinus (between the nose and cheek). A retention cyst forms due to collection of the secretions.
- Maxillary and mandibular tori- small bony outgrowths from jaw bones, nothing to worry.
Hope this is helpful. Do write in if any other doubts.
Bye
