What Does The Following CT Scan Report Suggest?

hi. my CT scan (only showed the bottom of my lungs because it was an abdominal scan for something else) It says: Lung bases: Images reveal patchy and linear densities in the bibasilar lungs likely a combination of atelectasis and/or scarring. I have never had pneumonia or anything so what does this mean?

Hi,

Bibasilar atelectasis may be seen in the collapse of alveoli of the lung.

It may be due to obstructive or non-obstructive type.

Seen in mucous or tumor in the bronchi or it may be due to pleural effusion or hemothorax etc.

I think you may be an artefact or in asbestosis may also present like pleural thickening with bibasal fibrosis.

Please get done full HRCT of chest then consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
