i recently had a VBBB diagnosis from my EKG. I have since had an ECG and a stress echo. Results indicated that valves were fine, but I had an EF score of 40%. Results showed a “fixed defect involving 24% of the myocardium with depressed non-segmental LV function”. I am a 66 yr. old male with well-controlled hyperlipdemia (atorvastatin 40 mg.). My BP only recently became elevated and I began a low dose of an ACE inhibitor and beta blocker. I am overweight, but not obese. I am generally asymptomatic, except for a little fatigue. No chest pain. I swim laps almost daily without incident. I am interested in knowing my options going forward. Would a cardio cath be appropriate? How likely would a blocked artery be the cause? How about drug therapy? Any other procedure you could suggest? Thx!
