What Does The Following HGB And HCT Readings Indicate?

On Jan 11 2017 My HGB Reading was 13.00,on Nov 9 2017it was 12.30. on Jan 11 2017 my HCT was 39.60 & On Nov 9 2017 it was 38.00. Now with another blood test done a week ago my B-12 & Folic acid readings are Normal. I am 82 years old & very active & animated. What if anything do those just below normal HGB & HCT readings indicate?. Two years ago I was put on 81 MG Baby Aspirn as a hedge against blood clots, do you think the Nsaid build up over two years would lower those two readings out of the normal range, to just under the normal range? Thanks much Ronald

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have nothing to worry about. Fluctuations in HGB and HCT are perfectly normal, and the variations you describe are most likely attributed to these normal fluctuations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
