What Does The Following MRI Report Indicate?

I have annular disc tears with underlying disc bulges/protrusions at L4-L5 and L5-S1. Disc desiccation is present. The L5 nerve roots abut the disc bugle/protrussion at L4-L5. Also facet degenerative change and there is posterior left facet cyst at the L5-S1 level. Thats what wrong with me I 33 6 foot weigh 156 pounds I have a good amount of pain but my doctors seem to not want to give me anything for pain. I'm I being a big baby about pain or should I get a better doctor? Thank you

I read your query and I understand your concern.

That MRI shows some degenerative changes in your lumbar spine (with the advancement of the age some degree of degeneration is often present), with disc disease with protrusion at two levels. At one of those levels the disc is adjacent to the nerve root although it doesn't appear to compress it (but some pain can be present due to local inflammation, you are not being a big baby).
There is no nerve compression so surgery definitely isn't indicated and your pain should be managed with physiotherapy and if you are in pain over the counter painkillers like acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Most patients gradually improve over some weeks.
