Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am about to be 50 years old. I have had a rising PSA for the last two years. When it got to 3.84 the doctor had me take a MRI - it came back with the following Findings: Lesion #1 - There is a 1cm hypodensity involving the right peripheral zone of the apex and mid gland on the ADC map with increased signal on diffusion weighted imaging. This finding is less well identified on T2 weighted imaging. T2 score = 3 DWI score = 4 Lesion # - There is a 1.5 cm hypondenity at the peripheral zone extending from the left apex to the mid gland on the ADC map also identified on T2 weighted imaging. This finding has patchy increased peripheral increased signal on diffusion weighted imaging. T2 score = 4 DWI score = 4 Impression: 1. PI-RADS 3 - Intermediate (presence of clinically significant cancer is equivocal) probability for cancer for lesion #1 identified in the right peripheral zone. 2. PI-RADS 4 - High (clinically significant cancer is likely to be present) for lesion #2 identified at the peripheral zone of the left apex and mid gland. I have a biopsy scheduled for next Tuesday. Over all I am a healthy 49 year old white male who has been in the military for 23 years. What are your thoughts? Joe Davis
From the MRI scan, it is most likely that the prostate cancer is one of the diagnosis. From your query , it is not understood any family history of similar illness.
From your query, the scan report if it is complete, it has not spread to any other regions. So after the biopsy, the doctor will decide abpout the treatment protocols.
Prostate cancer ,in the initial stages, the outlook is excellent, if treated.
Hope I answered your query.
