What Does The Following MRI Report Indicate?

My daughter has an MRI scheduled for Monday. However, I was concerned about the possibility of flesh eating bacteria and worried that Monday would be too long to wait if that is what it is. She has what she describes as a hole in her bottom cheek. She also says it is painful, not just in the area, but in a lot of her body. The doctor said that the whole is deeper than he would have thought by looking. She originally thought the hole was due to an improperly administered steroid shot. But the doctor thinks if were the case it would have caused the hole closer to the time she received the shot (in January). She tends to have a depressed immune system, she is in a lot of pain, she has had steroid shots. I am probably crazy to think you can tell me anything online. I just don t want to upset my daughter because she is already concerned. But I don t want to not do something if it could possibly be this. So I am trying to get some advice to see if I am silly to think this or not before I say anything to her.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, the hole in bottom cheek does not
sound to be related to steroid shot.
I doubt phagocytic activity of bacteria causing the infection
responsible for the same.

* However, if the MRI report is given as an attachment , I can further
put shadow over the case more precisely.

I would like to admire your further doubts anytime.
Take care.
