What Does The Following MRI Report Suggest?

hello sir, myself 30 years old Female suffered a stroke 3 years back on 21 August 2012. the MRI showed a 1.8 X 1.5 centimetre ovoid lension in right inferior frontal lobe that represented cavernous angioma. that time I was on tab Levilex 500mg 1-0, Levipil SR 1 gm 0-1, Rebella D 1-1, Grenill for headache. due to some side effects of those tablets I shifted to Homoeopathic treatment from December 2014and on 12June 2015 once again I got stroke the MRI should the same report as previous MRI had shown there is no significant increase or decrease in the size of the Lension now I am on tab strocit 1-1, Tab Oleptol OD 600mg 1-0, tab Fa xt 1-0, pantogen 40mg1-0. our doctor told us to meet a neurosurgeon. the neurosurgeon has suggested for early surgery. Please suggest what we need to do.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the chronic hematoma on long term basis without clinical symptoms do not need immediate surgical intervention. As there was gap of medicines due to side effects and the homeopathy is not proven as effective at all in this type of cases, I would recommend a course of 6 months therapy with regular follow up with your neurosurgeon to decide the future course of action.

Again, the issue of cavernous angioma predict a very high chance of bleeding even during safest intervention techniques of neuro-tactic brain surgeries. If you can provide me scan reports of both times during follow up period, it would be better to co relate on clinical grounds.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
