What Does The Following MRI Report Suggest?

I had a mri showing sagittal images demonstate low lying tonsils which extend approximately 4mm beyond the foramen magnum. axial flair images demonstrate a nonspecific t2 hyperintensity in the bifrontal subcortical white matter and right peritrigonal white matter. there is no evidence of abnormal enhancement, restricted diffusion, hydrocephalus, or extra-axial fluid collections. normal flow of voids are visualized. orbits and mastoids are normal. mucosal thickening of the left maxillary sinus is noted. I have three abnormal spinal taps from 12 years showing inflammation of the spinal fluid. the dr stated back then thought I could possibly have MS. do you think I have MS?

Hi,

White matter hyperintensities do point towards a suspected MS but you should be investigated for other symptoms and signs too.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
