What Does The Following MRI Scan Report Suggest?

Just got full body bone scan back. The report i pression says heterogeneous diffuse increased uptake in the left hemipelvis, given history is most consistent with pagets disease. What does this mean. It also says mild increased uptake in bilateral shoulders, sternoclavicular joints and left knee are consistent with degenerative change. There is heterogeneous diffuse uptake in the left ilium, left ischium and left pubic rami. Is there any treatment.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The MRI reports suggest the possibility of a condition known as Paget's disease. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, the rearmament options are drugs like Bisphosphonates and Calcitonin. Results are not satisfactory and complete cure is not possible. In case of pathological fracture, surgical fixation may be needed. Consult an orthopedic for expert advice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
