Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother just had a pet scan for a mass they found in her left lung. The results of the pet scan came back positive for cancer on the lung, but also showed a area in her groin. She has been having pain in her hip. Could cancer from the lung spread to a area in her groin or is it just possible that the pet scan lit up because she has inflammation from something to do with her hip? She has a consult with the doctor the end of the week. All they told her so far is that they saw a spot in the groin area and I was just wondering if lung cancer would typically spread to that area?
yeah it's highly possible that cancer can spread to the groin...actually lung cancer is highly malignant...I would consider u to refer oncologist for this ...I hope this resolved you're issue's
