There are certain criterion for diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis and these are positive AFB detection in sputum, radiological finding of tubercular lesion in lungs, elevated ESR, positive mantoux test, clinical diagnosis, family history, to confirm the final diagnosis at least three test need to be positive and this are sputum AFB, x-ray, mantoux test, hope this information helps, take care.
