Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Findings: No evidence of acute fracture or dislocation of the left shoulder. Normal bone marrow signal. No evidence of rotator cuff tear. Biceps tendon is located within the bicipital groove. Bone marrow edema seen involving the anterior aspect of the proximal humerus and humeral head. Please correlate clinically for site of trauma at this location. Subscapularis is intact. Acromioclavicular joint is intact. No synovial effusion. Glenoid labrum not optimally assessed without use of intra-articular contrast, however the labrum is intact. What does this mean in stupid terms?
Incomplete data like age, gender, any medical illness, etc not mentioned. It's suggestive of bone marrow edema due to trauma. Based on the MRI report you seem to have developed build up of fluid in the bone marrow of proximal humerus and humeral head (the upper portion of the bone of the left arm and shoulder joint). Bone marrow edema is a condition that is associated with arthritis, a fracture, or joint injury.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
