What Does The Following X-ray Report Suggest?

Hi. I was diagnosed w/ MG and was referred to a neuro ophthalmologist. He prescribed Mestinon and referred me to a thoracic surgeon. I had a thymectomy done 3 wks ago.Healing well post op assessment. While in hospital xray showed small bilateral pleural effusions, left lung showed an area of atelectasis infiltrate and vertical spondylosis. Are all thse something to worry about? Oops. Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the x ray report you have mentioned.
Bilateral pleural effusion and atelectesis are common postoperatively after thoracic surgery.
All these these are passive changes in lungs after thoracic surgery.
Chest physiotherapy and deep breathing exercises are required to clear pleural effusion and atelectesis.
So start vigorous chest physiotherapy and get done repeat chest x ray after 15 days. You will mostly have normal chest x ray.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
