Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband was diagnosed with granulomatous lymphadenitis with biopsy of periportal close to pancreas, what does this mean? and is and underlying cause we have to worry about? had MRI everything looks good, lungs, gallbladder, kidneys ect. they want him to have a colonoscopy, why?
It is suggestive of a chronic disease. Based on the findings given in your query, your husband seems to be suffering from a chronic inflammatory disease like tuberculosis or Crohn's disease or cancer. Colonoscopy will help in finding the underlying cause of granulomatous lymphadenitis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
