What Does The Following Blood Test Report Indicate?

My Mother s Lab Test has Ferritin, Serum 14 ng/ml What is this? There is other disturbing results on the test. RBC 3.19 X 10E6/ul Hemoglobin 8.9 g/dl Hematocrit 27.7% Iron Saturation 10% RDW 16.0% She is 86 years young. What type of test should she have? They do not recommend her to be put to sleep. What do we look for or go from here?

Hello. She has a iron deficiency anemia. You need to do serum iron,Total iron binding capacity and peripheral smear. It can be corrected with medications. Nothing to worry. Take care.
