What Does The Following Blood Test Report Indicate?

Hi, I am 23 years old, female, 125pounds, vegan 2 years, run several times a week 5-6miles, take no medications, and recently got labs done. LDL cholesterol 49 HDL cholesterol 85 Total 140 Triglycerides 32 Someone suggested to me that my cholesterol is too low. Thoughts? Thanks

Hello,

The lifestyle you are having (very active and exercising and vegan for 2 years) may explain the low cholesterol.
On the other hand, in rare cases, some diseases may cause low cholesterol such as hyperthyroidism, problems with surenal glands, liver diseases, malnutrition, malabsorption, etc.

To make sure the lipids are normally low in your case, it is advised to see a doctor and probably do some tests to check the function of some endocrine glands and the metabolic profile.
