What Does The Following Blood Test Report Suggest?

I had a tubal ligation last week and had blood tests 2 days before. I got my blood tests emailed and the pregnancy result says borderline. I have had an IUD for 3 years and can t imagine there being a viable embryo. Should the surgery have taken place with a borderline result?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If test is borderline means that beta HCG is at borderline. With pregnancy it's markedly high, and borderline result may be due to other causes or growths secreting beta HCG. It's better to get an ultrasound done to look for any signs of pregnancy and get a gynecologist review.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
