What Does The Following Blood Test Report Suggest?

Respectet sir I hv check my blood report for skin problem Report is- Hb (10.5) Peripheral smear - normocytres ++ - mildly hypochromic RBC - platelets adequate - no e/o malarial parasite Packed cell volume - 34.6 RDW%- H 25.2 HCT- L 34.6 MCHC- L 30.5 Tell me about it.

Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern

1. It probably looks a picture of anemia i.e. a case of microcytic hypochromic anemia probably iron deficiency anemia [IDA] since other peripheral smear is normal, so do check with Ferrokinetics [serum iron, total iron binding capacity]

2. Consult a pathologist/hematologist to exclude common causes of IDA: nutritional deficiency,chronic blood loss [worms,piles,ulcer,menorrhagia], increased demand during pregnancy,lactation since management will depend upon the cause.
