What Does The Following Blood Test Result Mean?
MY 13 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAS BEEN EXTREMELY THIRSTY AND USING THE RESTROOM MORE THEN USUAL. I TOOK HER TO THE DR AND THE DR SAID SHE HAS A UTI. I ALSO CHECKED HER BLOOD SUGAR WITH MY OLDEST DAUGHTERS METER,(SHE IS DIABETIC OLDEST DAUGHTER) HER SUGAR AFTER EATING A SANDWICH WAS 215. I AM CONCERNED, THE DR SAID THE BLOOD TEST CAME OUT FINE AND SHE DOES NOT HAVE DIABETES. THE BLOOD TEST CAME BACK WITH A BG AT 84. SHOULD I GET A SECOND OPINION?

If the blood sugar was 215, 2 hours after eating the sandwich then this is high and she may be a diabetic and further testing is needed and you should get another opinion.
This may include an HbA1C or fasting blood sugar at the doctor's office.
If the blood sugar was tested before the 2 hour mark, then it is not accurate and needs repeating.
The blood value of 84 is good.
