What Does The Following Bone Mass Density Test Result Indicate?

Hi, I recently got my Bone Mass Density Test done and my T-SCORE stands at (- 2.3). I have been prescribed Arachitol 60000 tab weekly for 4 weeks and Alfacal plus cap daily for 1 month. My queries are: 1. Is Arachitol tab safe? Does it have any side effects? 2. Will the medicines prescribed help in improving my T-score? 3. At present my Vit D reading is (57.41) . In Apr 2014,after severe pain in one entire nerve in the right leg, I had got my Vit D test done and the reading at that time was 4. How long will it take to improve my T-score to the safe level of ( -1)and after how long should I get my BMD re-tested? 5.Are the medicines prescribed OK or would you like to suggest any other for my condition? I am a female , 48 yrs old.

Doctor advise you Arachitol 60000 units ,because bone density level is not up to standard .
Q1 Is Arachitol tab safe?
Ans Yes, cholecalciferol is a most safe drug .
2 Will medicine prescribed will improve bmd ?
Ans , yes definitely it will improve BMD level .
3 Since your age is 48 years and due to low estrogen level BMD decrease , hence you require Vitamin D2 15-20 mg / day .
Normal level D3, 1,25-dihydroxy level is 36-180pmol/L (15-75pg/ml)
So in that sense your level is normal at present.
4 How long ?
ANS : It all depend on dietary and other supplements, but you should wait for 3-6 months for good result.
5 Are medicine OK ?
Ans , all medicines are safe and the best for you at this age .
