What Does The Following Brain MRI Scan Report Indicate?
my dad has undergone brain mri scan...his reports says sumthng lyk this ...conclusion - ill defined cystic lesion in the left anterior temporal lobe with perilesional cortical thickening wit t2 hyperintense signal. It most likely represent benign etiology. is anythng serious???
The summary of the report states that the lesion/ cyst appears to be likely benign (not cancerous). Since the lesion does not appear to be cancerous , the main concern would be the size, which was not indicated
If it is small and benign there may not be any symptoms associated with it. If it is large then symptoms may occur due to the pressure effect on the rest of the brain.
I hope this helps
