What Does The Following Chest CT Scan Result Suggest?

My mother was recently in a road accident, where her 4th to 8th ribs have minimal displaced fractures. We opted to do a chest CT scan to rule out any pneumothorax. Her report does mention these aspects that I do not understand, and would really appreciate figuring out, : 1) Mild Left pleural effusion seen with associated minimal passive collapse of left lower lobe. 2) Fibrocalcific foci seen in inferior segment of left lingula 3) small sub cm lymph nodes are seem on pre tracheal region Are any of these conditions of any concern? I m a law student so, I would like to know if my doctor missed telling us any information that is detrimental to her health.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there,

Thankyou for posting your question in HCM.

From the CT scan report, the only thing you need to be concerned about is the left pleural effusion with minimal left lower lobe collapse. You dont have to be concerned with the other 2 observations. The pleural effusion has to be tackled and should be brought to the notice of the treating physician if not already dealt with.

Hope you have found this useful.
