Good day Doctors! My husband chest xray result Findings: Questionable Densities are noted in the right apex. Rest of the lungs re clear. Lateral CP Sinuses are sharp. Heart is not enlarged. Pulmonary vascular is normal. Suggest ALV: Findings: Infiltrates again noted in the right upper lobe. Left upper lobe is clear. Impression: Suggestive of a chronic inflammatory lung disease compatible with Minimal PTB. He was advised to take antibiotic (cefalexin) for 2 weeks. Yesterday ALV was done again: Findings: Fibrolinear infiltrates noted in the right upper lobe. Impression Minimal Fibroid PTB, activity equivocal. My question is this mean that my husband minimal ptb was healed? Thank you ahead Doctors. Your answers will be a great help to our family.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, any report co relation requires thorough history, symptoms of the patient as well as clinical findings notes. As the chest X-ray is narrating fibrolinear infiltrates, previously affected lung with healed tuberculosis is most likely possibility. However, additional work up with CT thorax with or without biopsy of the lesion is mandatory to be at 100 % accuracy level.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
