What Does The Following Mammogram Report Suggest?
Here is what was sent to me regarding my recent mammogram results RIGHT BREAST: The breast parenchyma is heterogeneously dense which may obscure small masses on mammography. There is a spiculated mass in the upper outer quadrant at posterior depth. Nothing was found in the left breast. I am scheduled to go back for another mammogram ( or some other test) Oct 17th. Should I be worried?j

The mammogram is best combined with breast ultrasound.
Your mammogram describes a spiculated mass within the right breast. This must be further investigated. Ultrasound gives a much better characterization of the mass and its nature.
However, definite diagnosis is made by biopsy. Biopsy could be done by a needle through the skin, or by surgical excision. The decision is made by your specialized surgeon, according to the size and ultrasound report.
