What Does The Following Semen Analysis Report Suggest?

Hi Sir, I have grade 1 bilteral varicocele.. it is 2.2 mm in right testis (grade 1) and 2.8 mm in left testicles (grade 2). I recently done semen analysis report. Semen volume -1 ml Sperm count- 55 million/ml Motility- 50% (active-30% , sluggish -20%) Active motile-30% Sluggish motile-20% No motile-50% The morphology is 90% in good shape. Only 10% abnormal. Also 8-10 pus cells visible. No RBC. Can you please tell me whether I will be able to father a child normally. Whether report is normal. Please suggest medications/ treatment ?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

According to history provided your sperm motility is not normal it seems to be abnormal.

You are actively motile sperm is only 30% and normally it should be around 40%.

Kindly let me know that before semen analyses had you having 3 days of sexual abstinence? because 3 days sexual abstinence is needed before Semen analysis to give exact comment on semen sperm motility.
You should get treated your varicocele as well.

If still in repeat Semen analysis report your sperm motility is abnormal then underlying cause can be ruled out like vitamin and mineral deficiency, hormonal problem, smoking, stress etc.

Hey Forte like tablet can be beneficial if motility is low.
